It is not easy coming into a new school, especially when you have joined from outside of Hutchesons' and you are in unfamiliar surroundings.
Each S1 form class is allocated two S6 pupils, known as buddies, who visit the class once or twice every week. The pupils know that we are there to help them with any problems that they have or just want someone to talk to.
As the term progressed, I became more aware and confident of the role I was to play. In the process, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself, and would like to think I have made a slight difference to your S1 experience. You people have made our sixth year what it has been; the most enjoyable of our lives so far.
My sixth-year buddies were really helpful and made me feel welcome in the Secondary School.
Out of the three badges that I wear on my lapel, I am most proud to wear the Buddy badge, as it associates me with first year pupils, and reminds me of how much fun I have had over the past year in working with you.
