The Kingarth Street Library

The summer of 2007 saw the arrival of a new library on Kingarth Street - a bright, modern and welcoming space, which is already firing the imagination and invigorating the minds of primary pupils at Hutchesons'. Its success is due to the kind generosity of the many current and former pupils, parents and staff who contributed towards the project.

New Library

Pupils of all ages can use the library individually at lunchtime, or as part of their class, and interact with each other in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

The new library gives pupils improved access to computers in a supervised and safe environment, and is the hub of social activity at the heart of the School.

The focal point of the new library is the commemorative glass wall in the Hall. It was inscribed in October 2007 with the names of current and former pupils, and members of staff, all of whom helped to make the library a reality through their generous donations.
