Aqua stars


Senior pupils enjoyed competing in the Scottish Schools' Aquathlon at Stirling University on Friday.

Pupils from all senior year groups took part in the challenging interschool event which involved a swim and a run. 

S1 and S2 pupils completed a 300m swim followed by a 2km run, S3 and S4 pupils swam 400m then ran 3k.

S5 and S6 pupils swam 500m, completing the contest with a 400km run.

In the S1 and S2 girls race, Miriam Gilbride finished 32nd, Anna Young 36th, Ellie Wallace 41st and Gael Stewart 45th out of a field of 85 competitors. 

In the S1 and S2 boys race, Michael MacAulay finished 50th and Oscar Lonergan-Black finished 55th out of a field of 65. 

In the S3 and S4 race, Molly Young finished 16th out of 28 with an exceptional swim and David Brown finished 16th in a strong field of senior boys. 

The Hutchesons' swimmers also finished 14th in the team relay event - an exciting end to the day.
