Careers Convention

Pupils had the chance to learn about the world of work as the School Association hosted a Careers Convention on Thursday.

S4 pupils joined over 75 industry professionals for the information evening, including marine biologists, vets, broadcasters, engineers, stockbrokers, product designers and lawyers.

Many of the career consultants were either parents or former pupils of the school, with everyone getting the opportunity to have an informal chat and learn about a range of different industries.

Organisers from the School Association, which comprises of parents and teachers, rounded off the evening by thanking everyone in attendance for giving their time so generously.

Pupil Abby Barry said: "It was a really interesting event which has given me plenty of ideas about what I might like to do when I leave school. I learned a lot at the information evening, the consultants answered my questions very well and some even gave me ideas for work experience."
