First year pupils Stewart Alexander and Jennifer Riddell got the chance to meet some unexpected guests when firefighters from Polmadie Fire Station dropped into Beaton Road earlier today/yesterday.
Crew managers Mark Mulgrew and Shaun McCrone arrived in style in their fire engine to let us know about the 30th anniversary celebration of Polmadie Fire Station on Saturday, July 30th from 11-4pm.
The community event will highlight the important role of the Fire Service and other Blue Light services and there will also be stalls from other community groups and organisations.
Visitors will get the opportunity to get a closer look at some of the appliances and the station and they will learn about the many different types of incidents the firefighters attend.
Hutchie has always enjoyed good community links with Fire Scotland and are happy to support this event, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Firefighters Charity and a local good cause.
