Hutchesons' New Rector in post from August 2016

I am delighted to confirm that I will be able to commence work as the Rector of Hutchesons' Grammar School from August 2016 now that my successor has been found at Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen.

I have been particularly impressed with the clarity of vision demonstrated by the Governing Body and am keen to begin playing my part in the development of this ambitious and enormously capable school.

Hutchie manages the balance between achieving superb academic results and stimulating pupils with a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities.  On a personal level, I will still be teaching my subject Biology and hope to be able to lead jungle-based expeditions as I have in the past.
I have been so very impressed by the warmth of the relationships between staff and pupils. Facing a pupil panel formed part of the interview process and the children told me that they can always find a member of staff to talk to on a personal level, that they feel supported in all areas and feel safe and confident.
My young family and I look forward with great excitement to becoming an integral part of this vibrant learning community.
Mr Colin Gambles
