New Rector announced

The Governors are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Colin Gambles, BSc (Hons) as Rector of Hutchesons' Grammar School.

The School looks forward to welcoming Mr Gambles in January 2017, or earlier if agreed by both parties and to him making a significant contribution to the future progress of the school.

Mr Gambles, who is currently Deputy Head at Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen, is a graduate of Edinburgh and Cambridge universities with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and a PGCE in Biology and Integrated Science.

He has held previous senior teaching posts at George Watson's College, Edinburgh and West Buckland School, North Devon where he was Head of Biology.

Mr Gambles is married with four children, plays and coaches hockey and likes to keep fit and healthy skiing, walking, canoeing and mountain biking. He is a keen expedition leader, usually to jungle environments, such as Borneo and Belize.

He will succeed Dr Ken Greig who leaves Hutchesons' after 11 years as Rector to become Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain in Abu Dhabi.
