Junior Duke garden party

Thirty-one P7 pupils and a plethora of teachers attended this year's annual Junior Duke garden party with Gordon Bulloch.

Unfortunately, the weather was not so kind, so our garden party took place in the Infant Hall!

The P7s had worked hard all year to complete their Platinum Junior Duke Award and had learned new skills so their lunch was well-deserved.

We heard how Jamie had cooked fresh ravioli, Ava had lead a group of Rainbows and Harris and Robin had managed to get the council to fix the pot holes in their road.  We were also delighted to see that so many of the children in P7 already change their own sheets and put them on their beds themselves.

As the British Lions are playing rugby in New Zealand just now, Gordon Bulloch told us all about his last Lions tour when he thought he wouldn't be selected for the final big test…then he heard a knock at his door and his dreams came true!

He presented all of the certificates then the children asked for various things to be autographed.

We hope they go on to try new experiences and use the new skills they have gleaned from their Junior Duke Journey.
