S4 pupil Niamh Junner has just returned from a Karate training and competition camp in Denmark.
Niamh, who hopes to be compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, joined other high standard athletes from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Holland and the UK at the event a fortnight ago.
Niamh said: “I want to be representing Scotland hopefully by then end of the year. I will put my selection application in this November and hopefully I will be selected for the U21 European Championships in Bulgaria next February.”
The Denmark training and competition camp gave Niamh, who has been fighting for four and a half years, an insight into international standards in her sport and helped her prepare for the Berlin Banzai Cup later this year.
