A Swashbuckling Success!

At the end of summer term, senior pupils took to the stage to perform a new version of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance.

The storyline revolves around Frederic, who has spent his formative years as a junior pirate but plans to break free from the Pirate King and begin a courtship of Mabel. But because he was born on a leap year, he isn't technically 21 and the Pirate King is still his master!
The pupils' performances were of typical very high standard, with beautiful singing voices and impressive comic timing. We hope the recent Hutchie leavers can continue to use their acting, singing and dancing talents in their future life. And to the S4 and S5 pupils - we look forward to seeing you back on stage next year!
Congratulations and well done to each and every pupil, whether you were on stage or a stage crew member. Furthermore, a big thank you to the Drama department, Music department and the band.

More pictures can be viewed on the Hutchesons' Flickr plus you can enjoy a sample of the songs on our short video below.
