Our P7 pupils were crowned regional winners in the National Young Mathematician’s Awards Competition earlier this month.
After solving three tricky problems in the first round the put in a fantastic effort for the second round. Unfortunately, the competition was tough and despite winning the regional challenge they didn’t make the final at Cambridge University.
The competition was extremely tough with only the top five teams across the whole UK going forward to the final. Our pupils Carmen, Lucy, Dave and Elvin did well and the school is extremely proud of their achievement.
All four enjoyed the experience and said: “It was really great getting to work with new people. It was fairly challenging but exciting at the same time. The time limit made it more nerve wracking but we think we worked well together. Overall it was a great experience and we had a great time!”
