Highland Games Fun

P4 pupils had fun in the sun as they took part in their very own Highland Games last week.

Kirsty MacLeod opened the The Games with a fantastic display of Highland Dancing before eight clans, led by House Captains, paraded around the playground while piper Catriona Adams (P6) performed.

Clans competed against each other, playing Hutchie Rules Shinty, a tug of war and haggis and wellie hurling. All the competitors demonstrated great skill when tossing the caber and taking part in Mulholland's Muckle weight lifting challenge.

The afternoon ended with poetry recitals, treats of shortbread and the presentation of the prizes to the triumphant McDonald Clan.
