P6's Easter church visit

Primary 6 pupils visited Newton Mearns Baptist Church on Friday to learn about Easter. Here, pupils Layli Phillips and Ava Walton write about the trip.

We were invited to Newton Mearns Baptist Church on a fascinating school trip to learn about the three years leading up to Jesus' crucifixion. Adrienne and her helpers at the Baptist church where so enthusiastic and helpful, teaching us about Jesus and the story of Easter.

The story was exciting and full of adventure. There was drama, art, snacks, quizzes, stories and even competitions. In the art section we designed Easter egg decorations for a tree, we also made a class cross with what we learned and what we wanted to know on tiny paper crosses.

The trip was brilliant, very informative and packed with fun and action. Did you know that an Easter egg could cost up to £50,000? Every pupil received a pen which was greatly appreciated. This trip was wonderful and very enjoyable. It was a pleasure being invited. We would like to thank every member of the Church who helped and we think they all deserve a very Happy and Successful Easter!
