Political Visit

Senior pupils enjoyed an interesting afternoon, meeting Eastwood MSP and Deputy Leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Jackson Carlaw.

Mr Carlaw, a former Governor of the school, held an informal chat with the pupils who are preparing for their forthcoming Model UN Conference which is being held at Beaton Road on February 24th and 25th.

During the lunchtime meeting, Mr Carlaw answered a range of questions, discussing health, social media and politics.

The event gave pupils a fantastic insight into his career and the importance of young people being engaged in politics.

The pupils thanked Mr Carlaw for his visit and he rounded off the afternoon by offering them a tour of the Scottish Parliament.

The group are looking forward to being reunited with Mr Carlaw during their trip to Edinburgh!
