Primary Science Visit

P1 enjoyed a trip to Beaton Road recently, visiting the Science Department to learn more about Physics.

The pupils have been reading the story 'Penguin Small' by Mick Inkpen and have enjoyed learning about penguins, polar bears and winter.

They spent a fun-filled morning with staff from the Physics Department to find out more about forces, friction, floating, sinking and melting ice.

The home-made hovercraft powered by a leaf blower proved very popular with the pupils and they experimented with water, sugar and salt to find out which substance melted the ice faster.

Great fun was had by all, staff and parents included!
