Public Speaking Star

S4 pupil Pragna Challapalli wowed judges at the Glasgow Speakers' Club Schools' Competition.

Competing in the first heat, Pragna spoke passionately on her chosen topic of 'individuality' and was highly commended by the chief judge for her genuine, natural delivery as well as moving, thoughtful content.

Using the iconic hats of many an illustrious character as symbols of individuality, Pragna captured the audience's attention, before moving on to pose the weighty questions - in a world of 7 billion people what stops me blurring into the background? What stops me being just another fish in the sea, or star in the sky?

Following her powerful performance, Pragna was selected as a finalist, and will complete again in Glasgow City Chambers on December 4th.
