Scottish School Relay Finals 2017

Games pupils got on their marks as the School played host to the Scottish Schools Secondary Relay Final on Friday. 

Athletes from across Scotland attended the running event, with over 400 visitors coming along to watch the annual competition held at the Alix Jamieson Stadium. 

The Hutchie runners performed incredibly well on the day, representing the School in a number of age categories and distance races. 

The sun shone during the fun afternoon, which saw the Rector, Mr Gambles, award medals to the final winners, rounding off the successful event. Results for our Senior pupils are as follows: 


  • Over 15 Girls, 4 x 400m Relay- Silver      
  • Over 17 Girls, 4 x 100m Relay- Bronze     
  • Under 17 Girls, 4 x 100m Relay- Gold                                                     
  • Under 14 Girls ,4 x 100m Relay- Silver        
  •  Under 14 Boys, 4 x 100m Relay- Gold           


P7 pupils had success the following day, travelling to Grangemouth Stadium to compete at the Primary Scottish Relay Championships with both the Girls and Boys winning Gold in the 4 x 100m Relay finals. 

Following this success, the boys team managed to smash another school record.
