Swiss Pairs proves popular

The Hutchesons’ Open Swiss Pairs Bridge event is proving increasing popular with more players than ever attending.

The annual event, which was held in the School in early February, also attracted 15 junior players this year.

Mr DiMambro, who runs the School’s bridge club, said: “The feedback was incredibly positive, with special mention of the smooth running and organisation, the excellent food and the mature and helpful input of the volunteer students.

“A huge thanks goes to Horst Kopleck for directing in his usual professional and quiet way, getting the results out and assignments with such precision and quick-timing.

“All the prizes, totalling £310.00, were donated by generous sponsors for which the School is very grateful.”

The winners of the Shield this year were Jim McMenemy and Paul Maiolani while the special junior prize was taken by Malgorzata Szymanska and Athena Chow.
