S6 pupils, Fraser, Callum, Bertie and Suhit performed extremely well on the day and although they didn’t win, they made a valiant effort producing excellent results and creating an outstanding presentation.
The judges were full of high praise of their abilities and their finished product on the day.
A CanSat is a simulation of a real satellite, within the volume and shape of a soft drink can.
The challenge for students is to fit all the major subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors and a communication system, into this minimal volume.
Very well done to the Hutchie pupils, who conducted themselves in true Hutchie fashion on the day, often helping out and cheering on other teams.
