Exam Results 2022

Hutchesons’ Grammar School pupils have obtained excellent results at both Higher and Nat 5 level.

This year marked a return to pupils sitting SQA exams across all levels and it was their first experience of sitting external exams. We are delighted that our pupils have continued to be successful in their quest for top examination grades after a very challenging two years of covid-related disruption to learning.

The exam success is a result of pupil commitment to learning and strong support from teaching staff and parents. We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who have coped with so much to return these impressive grades.

This is the seventh year running that at least 64% of all Highers awarded to our Fifth Year are at grade A. Rector Colin Gambles said: “I am again so impressed by how all our youngsters have done in their external examinations. Remember these are the first external examinations that any of them have sat and they only removed their masks and saw their teachers’ faces for the first time in February.
“The vast majority of our S6 leavers have once again secured their first choice university place. Individual pupil choices remain impressively varied with successful applications to courses in the Arts, Social Sciences and the Sciences. We wish them every success for the future as they move on to universities across the UK including a number of Russell Group universities.”

The results below are ‘pre-appeal’. We will update the information when that process is completed in October 22.
