Martin Stewart Author Visit

S1 and S2 pupils enjoyed a visit from Martin Stewart, author of Riverkeep and The Sacrifice Box, during the summer term.

Martin spoke about his secrets for writing a good book, the long road to becoming a published author, and how he followed his passion for writing, giving up teaching along the way!

The pupils had the opportunity to hear about the creative process and how ideas can come from images, TV and film, and everyday life in Scotland.

Martin spoke about his career and read an excerpts from The Sacrifice Box, answering lots of questions from our budding authors at the end.

Head of English Mr Mike Symington thanked Martin for coming along to inspire our pupils, and School Librarian Mrs Denham for organising the visit.
