Rotary Young Writer Competition Local Winner

S1 pupil Arianna was named the local winner in the Intermediate Category of the Rotary Club’s Young Writer Competition.

Schools across Glasgow entered multiple pieces, with pupils all writing on the theme of ‘Connections’.

Arianna was the sole winner. Her piece has now been entered in the District Competition where it will be judged against entries from other Clubs in the West of Scotland.

If Arianna is successful in the District Competition, her piece will be entered in the UK National Final.

The Glasgow Rotary Club noted that: “The entries were judged for us by a published author and tutor in creative writing.

“She was impressed by the high standard of all of your pupils’ entries and found it very difficult to select just one winner.

“On Arianna’s piece she commented that “it was very well researched with carefully selected examples to underline her main points, very well crafted with an interesting conclusion.”
