Rugby Success

The U16 Rugby squad performed very well against Kelso High School in the Scottish Schools Plate competition in October.

On a 3G pitch, the Hutchesons’ players were on the front foot from the kick off and scored an impressive try to get the scoreboard moving. Kelso hit back immediately and scored an excellent individual try from their dangerous fullback.

From then on it was attack after attack from the Hutchesons’ boys who made their superiority tell with excellent interplay between forwards and backs allied to some superb footwork on the dependable surface, resulting in some quality touchdowns.

The majority of the scores were converted and the game was soon out of reach of the opposition.

Concentration was the key as the game wore on and the team secured progression into the quarter finals and an away fixture v Stewarts Melville College.

Very well done to our Hutchie Rugby players!
