V.E. Day Celebrations

P7 pupils held a V.E. Celebration to mark the end of their World War II study on November 30th.

The children took part in Maths code-cracking tasks and a Great House Quiz. They also enjoyed workshops ranging from rationing cookery to swing dance and medal making. It was a day full of excitement and interest.

The event culminated in a ‘street’ party, with sing-song and celebratory food!

As part of their World War II study the pupils were pleased to welcome Mr Ghee Bowman, PhD candidate in History, and Major Naveed Muhammad MBE, National Army Liaison Officer, to Kingarth Street.

The visit was organised by Colourful Heritage, a local organisation, and the talk was fascinating. The children were amazed to find out about the contributions of the British Indian Army during World War II.
