Hutchesons’ Grammar School has a strong house system that has been used very successfully in the primary school and by the secondary’s PE department for many years.
This session we are excited to announce the re-launch of the house system at the secondary school. The new system will offer pupils and staff the opportunity to get involved in a much broader range of house activities encompassing all areas of the co-curriculum.
The house system is overseen by the House Co-ordinator, Mr Patrick McMullan, with each house led by a member of staff, four S6 House Captains and a S3 Vice Captain. Pupils will have the opportunity to earn points for themselves and their houses via participation in co-curricular activities, school service and school events.
We wish to see many more pupils actively engaged in co-curricular activities and contributing to the school community. The new point system is linked to the Firefly learning platform and features a live accumulator which updates immediately when points are added. Pupils can track their points and will be notified by email when points have been awarded. The new system will allow us to acknowledge and recognise the contributions of all pupils throughout their time at Hutchesons’.
