Glasgow is a vibrant and attractive city in which to live and work, with first-class opportunities to enjoy music and the arts, film and sports. In addition, some of the finest scenery in the UK is on the city's doorstep.
Hutchesons' Grammar School is an integral part of this vibrant city. It is a HMC coeducational day school situated in Pollokshields, a pleasant suburb of the dynamic city of Glasgow, two miles south of the city centre. There are approximately 1,400 pupils across the primary and secondary schools. The secondary school was built in 1960, and the Boys' and Girls' schools amalgamated in 1976.
Founded in 1641, Hutchesons' quickly grew in size and reputation. Today it is renowned for its outstanding academic results and for the huge range of extra-curricular opportunities available to pupils. Staff benefit from well-resourced departments throughout the school, professional development for their own careers, and bright and committed pupils.
Hutchesons' has its own salary scales, which are above those of the maintained sector and compare favourably with those at other independent schools of similar standing. Members of staff qualify for a remission of fees for their children educated at Hutchesons'.
