Mr John F MacLeod

John was educated at Cargilfield School and Fettes College. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 having previously started his career with the Royal Bank of Scotland. John was Finance Director of Loganair Ltd in 1998-2000 before then setting up as a sole practitioner which he remains to this day.

John was Chairman of Glasgow Junior Chamber of Commerce and then went on to serve on the Board of JCI (Junior Chamber International). He served on the boards of Glasgow College of Building & Printing, Glasgow Metropolitan College and City of Glasgow College for 15 years.

He was Lord Dean of Guild of The Merchants House of Glasgow 2015-2017. He is a past Deacon of both The Incorporation of Bonnetmakers & Dyers of Glasgow and The Incorporation of Coopers of Glasgow. He is a trustee of various other charities and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for the City of Glasgow in 2017.

John joined the Board of Governors in 2018 as the representative of The Merchants House of Glasgow.

Mr Andrew McFarlane

Born and brought up in Motherwell, Lanarkshire and educated at Ladywell Primary and Dalziel High Schools. Further education was at Glasgow College of Building and Printing before qualifying and pursuing a career as Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Building Engineer and Arbitrator. In the early 2000’s Andrew gained an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration from The Robert Gordon University.

Retiring from full time practice at the end of 2019 Andrew continues to provide ad hoc consultancy in a specialist area to the firm in which he was a partner. He now has a portfolio of roles in two main areas, decision making and charities.

As a member of the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland, the RICS Regulatory Tribunal and the Professional Conduct Committee of CABE he makes decisions in connection with housing, property and professional conduct.

Andrew is an Auld Deacon of the Incorporation of Wrights in Glasgow, part of the Trades House and a former trustee of Aberlour Childcare Trust. He currently chairs the Board of Clyde Valley Housing Association, a Registered Social Landlord and has just completed his term as Lord Dean of Guild at the Merchants House of Glasgow. He serves as a trustee of a number of other charities operating in a variety of sectors.
