Senior Leadership Team

Mark Ronan joined the school as Rector & CEO in August 2024, bringing extensive leadership experience from leading independent schools in the UK and Ireland. He holds an Economics degree and an MA from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, a PGCE from Moray House, Edinburgh, and a Headship qualification from the National College for School Leadership.

Mark began his career at Rugby School before serving as Deputy Head Academic at Trent College, Head of Pocklington School, and Principal of The King’s Hospital School in Dublin. He is committed to fostering academic excellence, strong pastoral care, and a vibrant school community. Mark is married to Fiona, and they enjoy walking and travelling together.

David Campbell has served as Depute Rector since 2011, leading the school’s Careers and Higher Education provision and overseeing university applications and subject choice guidance. He joined the school in 1997 as a Teacher of English, following two years at Portora Royal School in Enniskillen.

Before joining the Senior Leadership Team, David was S6 Year Tutor for more than five years, developing a strong reputation for supporting pupils at key stages of their education. He holds an MA from the University of Dundee, together with an MEd and MSc from the University of Glasgow. David is married to Suzanne, and their three children, Olivia, Clara and David, are all former pupils of the school.

Ashley Cornfoot joined Hutchesons’ as Head of Primary in 2019, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in international education. Before joining the School, he served as Deputy Head and Acting Head of Primary in Kuala Lumpur, having previously held leadership roles in schools in Doha, Bangkok and Brussels.

Ashley is a leadership facilitator with University College London and an accredited school inspector for the Council of International Schools. He has also worked with Apple and Google to support the effective integration of technology in teaching and learning. Ashley is married with three children, all of whom attend the School. He enjoys exploring Scotland, visiting family, and following football.
