Seven pupils were accepted to the University of St Andrews, as well as 33% of pupils will attend universities within the Russell Group.

We were delighted that our pupils had been successful in their quest for top examination grades after a very challenging year of Covid-related disruption to learning. The exam success is a result of pupil commitment to learning and support from teaching staff and parents.

At Hutchesons’ we always stress the importance of a strong partnership between school and home to ensure each pupil is supported to achieve to the best of their ability. This partnership had been even more important this year with pupils learning under changing covid restrictions.

We were incredibly proud of all our pupils who coped well with online learning and periods of self-isolation. Our effective live online classes ensured that pupils continued learning throughout lockdown, all courses were completed and could be assessed.

This was the sixth year running that over 67% of all Highers awarded to our Fifth Year were at grade A.

The vast majority of our S6 leavers have once again secured their first choice university place, with varied successful applications to courses in the Arts, Social Sciences and the Sciences across the UK, including a number of Russell Group universities.
