Entrance Assessments

Our entrance assessments are designed to understand each child’s strengths, potential and individual learning needs. The format varies according to the year of entry, but every assessment is intended to be appropriate to age and transition stage.

We are looking for curious, enthusiastic young people who will contribute positively to our school community.

There is no expectation that children prepare extensively for our assessments.

Primary Admissions

Nursery, Pre-School and P1 – P2

For our youngest applicants, assessments are informal and age appropriate. Children take part in activities, games and conversations that allow us to understand their stage of development, communication skills and early literacy and numeracy.

P3 – P7

Applicants complete a two-stage admissions process:

Stage One – Meeting Your Child

Families meet with one of our senior leaders to discuss interests, strengths, previous schooling and aspirations.

Stage Two – Assessment

Children complete a computer-based assessment measuring:

  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Non-verbal Reasoning
  • Spatial Reasoning
  • Quantitative Reasoning

Reading, writing and spelling are also assessed to help us understand how best to support each child.
