Sport & Physical Education

Sport plays a central role in Primary life. From Primary 1, pupils are taught by specialist PE teachers, including former international athletes and Olympians, and enjoy an extensive programme of physical education that develops skill, confidence and teamwork.

As pupils progress, they experience a wide range of sports including hockey, rugby, cricket, tennis, swimming, basketball and netball, alongside an exciting programme of co-curricular activities. Whether participating for enjoyment or competing at the highest level, every child is encouraged to develop a lifelong appreciation of health, wellbeing and physical achievement.

Additional Support for Learning

We believe every child should have the opportunity to flourish academically, socially and personally. Our inclusive approach to Additional Support for Learning is built around knowing each child as an individual and providing the guidance, encouragement and specialist expertise they need to thrive.

Through early identification, tailored programmes and ongoing partnership with parents, we ensure children are equipped to reach their full potential.

Our Primary Additional Support for Learning team works closely with class teachers to identify and respond to pupils’ individual learning needs from the earliest opportunity. Whether your child would benefit from additional support in literacy, numeracy, motor skills, communication or social development, our focus is on nurturing confidence and establishing strong foundations for future success.

Support is tailored to each pupil and may be delivered within the classroom or through individual and small-group sessions. Programmes are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain responsive to each child’s progress, while close partnerships with families help provide continuity of care throughout the junior years.
