Morgan and Omar (both S5) were invited to attend the Chemistry Masterclass 2019 held at Heriot Watt University on the 21st February in the William Perkin Chemistry laboratories.
This was a one-day event where they carried out practical activities which included the organic synthesis of a biologically significant molecule.
They also then were afforded the opportunity to analyse their molecular structure using a variety of spectroscopic techniques.
Both pupils enjoyed working in the universities laboratories and meeting other participants from schools around Scotland.
