As a charitable school, widening access remains central to our mission. We offer means-tested bursaries to enable talented young people to benefit from an exceptional education regardless of financial circumstances. Support ranges from partial fee assistance to transformational bursaries covering up to 100% of tuition fees.
Bursaries are only available for entry into S1 and are awarded following academic assessment and financial review. We welcome applications from families who demonstrate genuine financial need. Regrettably, we are unable to offer bursary support for pupils joining the School in Primary or at any stage beyond S1.
As demand for bursaries exceeds the funding available, awards are highly competitive. Decisions are based on both financial need and performance in the S1 Entrance Assessment. Priority is given to applicants who demonstrate great potential and whose circumstances indicate that a bursary would be genuinely transformational.
Following submission, every application undergoes a rigorous assessment based on the detailed financial evidence provided. As a guide, bursary support is unlikely to be available where combined parental income exceeds £65,000 or where there are significant assets.
Our bursary programme is designed to support those with the greatest financial need. Awards vary according to individual circumstances, and almost all families are expected to contribute towards tuition fees in line with their means. We encourage families to consider carefully the level of contribution they are able to make before applying.
Bursaries apply to tuition fees only. Families remain responsible for all additional costs, including uniform, lunches, transport, educational visits and other incidental expenses.
To request bursary consideration, please select the relevant option within the online admissions application. When applications open in October, you will be invited to submit a detailed bursary application with supporting financial evidence.
