The P1-4 team of Leo, Sam, Emily and Yousuf, skied the super-long course fourteen times in their round robin and finished in fourth place in their pool.
A great, but very long, morning with amazing support from the super-loud Hutchie parents. They left elated, with big smiles, but with very tired legs!
The afternoon session was for the P5-7 teams. Our team of Michael, Struan, Logan and Murray skied their pool races slickly and ended up tied for 2nd place in their pool along with Robert Gordon’s College.
They had a very exciting ski off and lost by milliseconds. After a stewards’ enquiry about a rogue ski pole on the course, the race was repeated. This time, Hutchie won so they went through to the semifinals.
The boys finished just out of the medals but are delighted to be fourth in the country.
Mrs Waugh would like to extend a very big thank you to Mrs McGinn for her chilly work on the slope and the supportive parents and for their numerous cups of tea to warm her hands whilst standing in the big fridge commentating all day.
