Each S4 pupil was given the opportunity to meet with up to six consultants from different occupations and have informal conversations about what their particular career involves.
The School Association arranged for 85 consultants to attend the event covering over 50 different career areas, including marine biology, veterinary medicine, broadcasting, engineering, stockbroking, product design and law. Many of the consultants were either parents or FPs, and the school is extremely grateful to all of our consultants for giving their time so generously.
The evening had a lovely atmosphere with the pupils engaged and excited to be thinking about their future.
S4’s Emma commented:
“Last week, the school invited a selection of people, representing careers for our choosing, to a careers convention night.
Opportunities abound and our careers night helped to highlight some of the choices available to us when we leave Hutchesons’.
Whether we go to university, college or straight to working from school, life is all about choices. And thanks to our careers night I believe I can guarantee for us all, that we are better informed to be able to make that choice.”
If you would be interested in being involved in this event in the future please get in touch with Miss Chisholm on careers@hutchesons.org.
