Emma (S1) and Emma (S2) lead the cast as everyone’s favourite little redhead, Annie, with the show opening in 1930s New York City. There at an orphanage, we met the cruel Miss Hannigan, played by Maya (S2) and Sarah (S2), who was determined to crush Annie’s hopes and determination to be reunited with her parents.
S1 and S2 Drama Club pupils brought this heart-warming classic to life with lively and entertaining renditions of “Tomorrow” and a “Hard Knock Life”, with the help of the talented Hutchie band.
This fun and charming production had four performances, over three days with two casts – it certainly has been an incredible week. The atmosphere was electric and the energy, talent and sheer joy shone through in every single song, dance and scene. Thank you to everyone who came to watch our terrific junior performers and to Tall Poppy Events for the fantastic sound and lighting.
Lisa Queen, Drama Teacher said:
“Pupils have worked incredibly hard and were a joy to direct. They have cheered and encouraged each other throughout the rehearsal period and worked brilliantly as a team to create memorable performances, and I couldn’t be more proud and thankful for their dedication to bringing their best, be it on stage or behind the scenes.”
Well done to our two casts, Team Chrysler and Team Empire, all the stage crew behind the scenes, and of course our staff, for another enjoyable show.
