Competing against 14 other pupils from a variety of schools, the girls delivered powerful five minute speeches. Shona spoke wittily about the catastrophic consequences a lack of punctuality wrecks upon our lives, while Pragna eloquently explored all the opportunities that humanity must be brave enough to take.
As always at this annual competition, the standard was incredibly high, with all pupils impressing the audience and judges. Pragna successfully progressed to the Finals, to be held at Hutchesons’ on Tuesday 20th November. Both pupils did themselves, and Hutchie, proud.
Four other pupils will compete in the second and third heats, so further updates to follow from Hutchie’s star speakers.
