Throughout the week, children took part in a range of book-themed events, including book sales, fun and challenging escape rooms, and the much-anticipated annual costume parade during assembly. Both staff and pupils fully embraced the occasion, arriving in an array of imaginative and colourful outfits inspired by their favourite book characters.
David writes both fiction and non-fiction books for young readers, many of which are inspired by Scotland’s rich history. Some of his popular titles include Velda the Awesomest Viking and An Amazing Illustrated Atlas of Scotland.
During his engaging session, David spoke to the pupils about dragons and Vikings, encouraging everyone to join in with their most impressive Viking roars. The children had great fun participating and learning about the inspiration behind his stories. David also introduced his newest book, Where’s Dragon in His Castle?, giving pupils an exciting glimpse into his latest adventure.
At the end of the visit, pupils had the opportunity to have their books personally signed by David, making the experience even more memorable.
