1957 Group Golf Day 2024

A Glorious Day for Golf at the Annual 1957 Group Golf Day

Our 1957 Group hosted another fantastic day at Whitecraigs Golf Club for the third annual Hutchie Golf Day. A highly anticipated event in the social calendar, on Friday, 10th May 76 golfers, made up of parents, former pupils, teachers, and friends of the school, came together in the glorious sunshine for a round of team golf.

As well as golf, we had a wonderfully catered halfway house provided by Aramark, our school caterers. Then, golfers and guests retired to the clubhouse for dinner and drinks on the terrace in the sunshine.

Overall winners were Nick Alexander (C2003), Chris Alexander (C2008), Phil Reilly, and Allan Lapsley for a second time who were winners at our inaugural golf day!  Winners of the longest drive, sponsored by Etellect Ltd, were Iain Wyper (Men’s competition) and Tracy Fraser (Ladies competition). Nearest to the Pin winners, sponsored by Caribbean Eye Institute, were Paul Bunis (Men’s competition) and Tracy Fraser (Ladies competition).

A special thank you to our title sponsor, Corum Property, and Aramark who donated The Van, food and their wonderful Chef de Parties, Lisa and Alison, as well as Whitecraig’s Golf Club and PGA Professional David Orr for welcoming us once again. In addition, we would like to thank all parents from the 1957 Group and HGSPA who gave up their time to volunteer at the event, particularly Kevin Heverin who took on the planning and coordination of the day.

A total of £3256 was raised by the 1957 Group which will be used to support key infrastructure projects that benefit the whole school community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the raffle.

We hope to see you there next year!
