Archive Photo of The Month – August

For the first Archive Photo of the Month for the new school session, is photo of a pupil’s poem from the 1920s-1930s.

The poem, ‘Our Baby Goes To School’, will resonate with our Primary 1 parents, who are both excited and anxious about their little one’s first day at Hutchie. As we welcome all our pupils starting their first day at the school today, we look forward to supporting their journey throughout their time with us.

We hold many different things in the archive from admission registers, school minutes, photos, and plans, to programmes, correspondence, uniforms, trophies, WW1 and 2 collections, and much more. If you have a enquiry or would like to know more about the School’s history, please contact our School Archivist, Ms Devenney at archives@hutchesons.org.

School Archive:

Committed to the collection, preservation and maintenance of the records of the school, its activities and pupils, the School strives to record the school’s history and memory and hold a range of archive material from class registers and magazines to photographs, trophies and uniforms. Pupils are encouraged at both Primary and Secondary School to engage with archive material, with the aim to provide a dynamic educational resource for the school and wider community.
