Here, S6 pupils Morgan and Natasha write about the fantastic experience:
What better way to entice the S6 pupils into sitting in the front row than to tell them dogs will b e present at Talking Points.
Canine Partners came to the school with two blonde Labradors to demonstrate all the amazing things they can do for those who are unable to complete basic tasks by themselves.
The pupils heard a number of stories which highlighted just how much people’s lives have been transformed by one of the charity’s specially trained dogs.
The staff were all very kind, you could tell they had a strong connection to the dogs. Afterwards, the pupils were given the opportunity to have lunch with the team (dogs included!) and ask further questions about the charity.
It is a gruelling process raising these dogs and training them to such a high standard, but the people involved in the process work hard to create companions for life.
It was truly wonderful hearing them come to school and inspire us all (with the additional hugs and cuddles from the dogs!).
