Exploring the Archive

Our school archivist, Ms Devenney, talked to Primary 6 about her job at the school and brought some Victorian artefacts from the Hutchesons’ Archives.

It was fascinating to see photographs of Hutchie pupils during those times and how different the school is today. Pupils had the opportunity to look at a school prospectus, final certificates and registers.

Ms Devenney even brought in an original School Certificate from 1895 for a Jessie Cornell (or Connell).

Everyone found the workshop fascinating and a lot was learned by all on the day!
