As part of our long-standing classroom connect education exchange programme, five S6 pupils had the opportunity to visit Dr Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial English Medium High School, in Nitte, India.
The exchange marks over 19 years of sustained collaboration between the two schools and aims at promoting global understanding and shared learning.
Our pupils and teachers participated in a wide range of academic and cultural activities during their time in the region, including exploring an extensive collection of artefacts reflecting the region’s cultural heritage, interacting closely with local students and staff, touring the school, and embracing local culture and traditions.
On their return, pupils shared their experience:
Rachel said:
“In India, we experienced such a different lifestyle to what we are used to, but it was truly eye opening and most of all great fun! I am now excited to host the guests from India and show them our country with the aim of being just as welcoming as they were to us.”
Ameila shared:
“The trip to India was truly unforgettable. The kindness and hospitality we were met with made it even more special, and we made friendships that will last a lifetime. I went in with no expectations, and it’s an experience unlike any other. I’d encourage everyone to go next year and experience what we were lucky to be a part of.”
The exchange programme will continue later this year, with our school set to host students from India in August, further strengthening the enduring partnership and reaffirming both schools’ commitment to international education and cultural exchange.
