Owen, as Chairperson, confidently opened proceedings by introducing the team and their topic, and ensured the presentation ran smoothly throughout.
Aubrey then took to the floor as the Main Speaker, delivering a profound speech entitled ‘Weeds or Wildflowers’, which challenged the audience to think deeply about the importance of genuine altruism and the legacy we each hope to leave behind.
Sara neatly concluded proceedings as the Vote of Thanks, noting the team’s appreciation of their fellow competitors speeches and the opportunity for such a platform to deliver their message and make their voices heard.
With eight teams participating from schools across the West of Scotland, and our team by far the youngest in the competition, we are delighted to report that the pupils were named runners up and have therefore qualified for the Regional Final at Stirling University on 16th March.
Regardless of future results, we expect great things from these three wonderful public speakers.
