Bringing festive cheer to Kingarth Street, the children looked fantastic and performed wonderfully. Standing tall and looking ahead at the big inflatable Santa to calm their nerves, just as their teachers had taught them, the children delivered their lines confidently and clearly. Any butterflies quickly fluttered away as the big smiles twinkled brighter than the lights on the Christmas tree.
A lot of practice had gone into this performance, and it showed. Between their individual lines and the different songs, the children had a lot to learn but they were well rehearsed. From hopping sheep to camels treks, twinkling stars to dancing angels, pupils told the story of Christmas. A special mention needs to go to Aarvi, who stepped in as Mary at the very last minute to cover for Robyn who unfortunately took unwell. Well done Aarvi and get well soon Robyn.
With a round of applause, the children made their way off the stage and ran up to familiar faces in the audience for big hugs and high fives, signalling a resounding success.
Special thanks to Alexanders Country Store for the kind hay donation that set the scene, Mrs Summers for the fantastic costumes, Mrs Porter for the music supported by Miss McGlynn, Mr Drysdale for sound and mic support, and of course our wonderful Primary 1 Teachers, Mrs Chamberlain, and Mrs Scott.
It was a super performance by all, well done everyone.
