Activities Week gives pupils the opportunity to come together to learn new skills or help charities in the community.
The pupils who took part in an education camp met at Harburn House in West Calder, where they were split into two groups to learn about bushcraft and survival skills. This also included first aid training and campfire cooking, and they enjoyed taking part in games with archery and axe-throwing.
Pupils who didn’t camp, had the opportunity to take on a hill walking challenge to climb either Ben Lomond or Ben A’an against the ever-changing elements, or help local charities by painting fences, making up packs for the homeless, or taking part in a litter pick at Troon beach.
Staff who accompanied the pupils were really impressed with how positively the S3s responded to all the challenges they faced, and it was great experience for the year group to work together to face a range of challenges from climbing Munros, to building shelters in the woods, to cleaning up a Conservation Area.
Well done to everyone who took part, it was a fantastic effort all round.
