TinkerTown comes to the Primary

P4-P7 pupils participated in a Leadership and Outdoor Learning Day last week, held in Kingarth Street and led by TinkerTown.

TinkerTown is an organization which promotes child-led creativity through construction, and we were delighted to welcome them to give pupils the opportunity to learn about architectures, engineering, and planning, through physically building their own creations.

The aim of the Leadership and Outdoor Learning Day had the sole focus of developing pupils three leadership skills of; problem solving, collaboration, and responsibility. Taking to their projects with enthusiasm, and with safety goggles on and hammer/saw in hand, pupils set to work. Learning to use tools, whilst learning the importance of communication and teamwork, pupils embraced our core values of creativity, curiosity and independence.

Building different structures from boats, airplanes, dens, castles and even cars, pupils learned valuable life skills. It was an engaging and interesting workshop, teaching pupils to recognise challenges and how to solve them along the way.

With the sun shining and the ideas flowing, there were plenty of fun inventions and laughs throughout the day. Thank you to TinkerTown, and to all our parent helpers who helped support this activity.
