Sports Awards 24/25

Before the Spring Break, our annual Sports Awards were held to celebrate the 2024-25 winter team sports squads.

Helping to honour the dedication and hard work of our talented pupils, Mr Milligan, Director of Sport, spoke about the spirit of teamwork, growth and resilience. He commented;

“Coming along to one training session, playing one match is easy. Having the dedication to come week after week, month after month, year after year is what separates you.”

He continued;

“Sport can be transformative, it has the ability to build character, resilience, and teamwork, empowering people to push their limits, overcome challenges, and develop lifelong skills that extend far beyond the field of play.”

Team Captains Mathew (Soccer), Rohan (Boys’ Hockey), Logan (Rugby), and Matilda (Girls’ Hockey), reflected on their season, before our Rector presented players with their awards.

Our 2024/25 award winners are:

• The Philip Noble Trophy – Logan (S6)
  The accolade of receiving the Philip Noble Trophy is undoubtedly held in the highest esteem by the 1st XV. Philip Noble tragically lost his life in a motor accident in his sixth year at school. Philip was an excellent player, extremely popular and a totally committed young man. His sense of humour, enthusiasm and love of life made him stand out from the crowd. Following his death, the Senior Pupils donated this beautiful trophy in memory of Philip.This year the trophy was awarded to Logan who has shown unwavering dedication and commitment to the team throughout his school career, very much in the way of Philip.
• Willie Wilson Memorial Award for Leadership in Rugby – Fraser (S4)
• Commitment in Rugby; The Stuart Lang Award – Jack (S6)
• Commitment in Girls’ Hockey – Zoe (S6)
• Commitment in Boys’ Hockey – Christopher (S6)
• Commitment in Soccer – Findlay (S6)
• Leadership in Girls’ Hockey – Nieve (S6)
• Leadership in Boys’ Hockey – Findlay (S5)
• 1st X1 Girls’ Hockey Captain – Matilda (S6)
• 1st X1 Boys’ Hockey Captain – Rohan (S6)
• 1st XV Netball Captain – Athena (S6)
• 1st X1 Soccer Captain – Mathew (S6)
• 1st XV Rugby Captain – Logan (S6)
