The image featured comes from our school magazine and was illustrated in 1961. The sketch was created to imagine what that very first Founders’ Day might have looked like. Remarkably, many of the traditions captured in the drawing feel strikingly familiar today – a testament to the enduring spirit of the occasion.
Also included this week is a riddle from one of the girls’ magazines of the 1960s, a “What Am I?” riddle. It serves as a reminder of what Founders’ Day is truly all about. Can you guess what the answer is?
Committed to the collection, preservation and maintenance of the records of the school, its activities and pupils, the School strives to record the school’s history and memory and hold a range of archive material from class registers and magazines to photographs, trophies and uniforms. Pupils are encouraged at both Primary and Secondary School to engage with archive material, with the aim to provide a dynamic educational resource for the school and wider community.
