Our Primary 5 pupils took their learning outside the classroom to take a trip to Edinburgh to visit Dynamic Earth.
Described as “situated in the heart of Edinburgh at the foot of an ancient volcano, Dynamic Earth is the only centre of its kind dedicated to telling the story of planet Earth” and was organised as a fun and exciting way to introduce pupils to their Natural Disaster topic which they are about to start in class.
There were so much for our pupils to see and do, but highlights included, the time-travelling lift which transported them to the beginning of time, the earthquake simulator where they felt the ground shudder beneath them, the real block of ice in the Ice Age zone, which was cold enough to see your breath, as well as the Under the Depths marine movie which explored habitats and the marine scientists of today.
It was an interactive and thoroughly enjoyable day out for all, thank you to our P5 Teachers, Miss Wilson, Mr Drysdale and Mrs Unkles, for organising.
